QR EnerStar is pleased to advise its clients that SEI is ready to proceed with applications from homeowners applying for insulation grants under the Home Energy Saving Scheme (HES).
Those who followed our updates know already that HES is a national scheme and is thus open to all owners of existing houses. Homeowners who are interested in improving the energy efficiency of their home in order to reduce energy use and costs and greenhouse gas emissions can now register their interest and receive grants. Landlords and owners of multiple properties may also apply, however they must submit a separate application form for each property.
SEI recommended that a Building Energy Rating is carried out prior to any works being carried out as it would help identify the areas which would benefit the most from insulating or an upgrade. Homeowner will not only save money on insulation but receive a professional advice and guidance on reducing their overall bills. We want to remind the applicants for grants that a small investment can pay back within less than a year taking into consideration that a part of the BER Certificate price is being covered by the HES scheme.
If you need more information you can contact us today on: 01 66 88 304.
Applications for the grants can be made through Sustainable Energy Ireland, which has already received 94,000 inquiries through phone calls and visits to its website.
Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources Eamon Ryan says he has been assured that all applications will be processed in less than three days.
Before you begin your application, please have the following information available to hand:
• Your electricity Meter Point Reference Number (MPRN)
This number is generally located at the top of your Electricity Supplier Bill, and is 11 digits long.
• E-mail address
You will need this so that we can confirm your application and send you important information and documents. You will also need it to confirm your acceptance of a grant offer when one is issued.
• Bank Details
Details of the bank account into which the grant should be paid – account holder name, bank name, bank sort code and account number.
• Dwelling details
The year in which the home was built – must be prior to 2006.
• Contractor Details
If you have already selected an SEI registered contractor then you will need to know their name and address. If not, you will be able to search for a contractor during the application process.
